GoPlanner

This project involves researching the experiences and challenges faced by Millennial parents with young children when traveling by plane. Based on the problems they encounter, I created a solution in the form of an application.

About the company

Luggage Care is a luggage check-in service that allows people to have their luggage picked up from home at an agreed time and checked in for them. Customers can choose the pick-up location, whether at the destination airport or their accommodation.

Case

The company aims to offer more than just a luggage check-in service. Currently, contact between the company and their customers ceases when they travel abroad. To fill this gap, the company wants to introduce a supportive tool to help their customers during their travels. My job is to research the problems our target group encounters during their trips and create a solution for them that also aligns with the company’s purpose. The research question is:

How can we implement the current Goluggo service for inexperienced millennial parents with young children during their travels abroad?

Target group

The company aims to target all types of travelers, but doing so without focusing on a specific target group would make the project more challenging. Each type of traveler has unique needs and pain points. After conducting thorough user research, we concluded that Millennial parents with young children are the most beneficial target group for the company.

The design process

To tackle this project, I structured it into three distinct sprints, which I refer to as the Triple C’s: connect, concept and create. Each sprint, I used the diamond strategy by diverging to explore a wide range of ideas, options and insights, then converging to narrow down the best solutions. This approach ensured I fully understood the issues, aiding in decision-making and creating the best solutions.

Sprint 1: Connect

In this initial phase, the focus was on deep research. I aimed to understand and empathize with the task, the users, and the stakeholders. This involved conducting interviews, surveys, and thorough market analysis to gather valuable insights and perspectives.

Sprint 2: Concept

With the rich information from Sprint 1, I moved on to developing concepts. During this phase, I synthesized the gathered data to create a comprehensive overview. I then brainstormed and crafted three concepts, each designed to address the identified needs and pain points. These concepts were pitched to the stakeholders and the users interviewed in sprint 1. After careful consideration, the concept with the most potential was selected.

Sprint 3: Create

In this final phase, the selected concept was brought to life. Detailed designs and prototypes were developed, tested, and refined a couple of times to ensure they met the needs of the users and aligned with the company’s objectives.

Brand identity

To maintain a consistent brand identity, I followed their brand style guidelines. This included using the correct logo, color palette, typography and imagery. By adhering to these standards, all designs and communications remained cohesive and aligned with the brand’s look and feel.
